YAY another crop night means I actually got some pages done!!! Lately, I just haven't been scrapping at night, been just watching some tv on the couch instead! Am going to try and get some more scrapping done though, as those photos are mounting up and I'm feeling like I'm getting behind. Scrapbooking From Scratch is running a September comp at the moment, which is a sketch per day - so 30 sketches should be just the thing I need to inspire me to get those layouts done. I managed to get one of them done last night.....

This first one is fro Black with Two - haven't played along with this blog before, but this colour combo was perfect for Luke's first trip to the dentist!! haha.

The next one is for The Colour Room of Kaytie bathing her newborn doll...

This is the September STUCK? sketch and SFS used it as their 3rd sketch for the month - so 2 birds whoohoo!!

This one is for SFS's quote challenge......"Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is noone alive who is youer than YOU!! Dr Seuss. Love it!

Well haven't been doing much scrapping sadly, too many other things and projects on the go, but I did manage to do the first Stuck Sketch a couple of weeks ago. Hoping to have ago at the second one before the end of the month.

I can't believe I haven't blogged in almost a year!!! It certainly has been a busy year, but thought I would upload my scrap-creations again and get myself motivated to do more scrapping. It certainly is a great hobby and a beautiful way to record our family memories.

The first one is for the challenge WHITE WITH ONE - July's challenge is "White - Aqua/teal - chipboard". It's from Easter this year during our Easter hunt at mum and dad's house.

The next one is for THE COLOUR ROOM and is from when we went to see Dinosaurs Alive exhibition. I still can't believe that Luke was not one bit scared of those dinosaurs!! It took Kaytie half an hour to understand that they are not real - so I spose its 'a boy thing' lol

It's holidays at the moment and have some spare time to do a few more pages, so I'm working on a STUCK?! SKETCH at the moment and I'll pop it up here when I'm done.

JULY Update

Have missed a month there, but for good reason. I have been off galavanting across the world on a trip to Europe for some every important Children's Hospital work. Had a great time and met some wonderful people, but am back to my scrap desk and have been playing along with some of the monthly and cybercrop Bon challenges over at Bon's scraps. I also had a go at the Kraft it Up Challenge for the very first time. I'm not much of a 'Kraft' scrapper, so it was a little out of my comfort zone, but I love the look it gives with beachy photos. I got Kaytie to do these little painted footprints using her fist. I used to do that when I was little on the foggy windows of the car, so it brought back some great memories too :)

Gosh, I can not believe it is already April!!!!! With school back this week, its back into routine and a little bit of scrapping share from the holidays.

The first one was the FTL layout I did for my final challenge at artypants, but it seems that everyone was too busy to play along, so no one had a go which was a bit of a shame. I love these photos of Kaytie in the little electric car, she is such a cute little driver too. Doing her 3 point turns like she's been driving for years LOL!!!! Loving the October Afternoon paper atm, seems to suit any photo moment!!

This one of Kaytie in her swim cap was done for Em's challenge over at Scrapboutique.

This one was a scraplift challenge for the March CC over at Bon's. Was great to do a layout with 4 photos in it, so thanks for the inspiration Charm and Bronny!!!

This was another CC challenge over at Bon's....Syke's Sketch Challenge. Love this photo of Luke, so proud of himself with his painting hehe.

And lastly this is my first attempt at the ROTM challenge at Bon's. Felicity chooses a Room to draw inspiration from each month and you are to scrap your interpretation of it. This photo of Kaytie and Jemmah is just too cute and was yelling out to be to be scrapped hehe.

This also leads me to the announcement of the next Bon's CC for April.

Starting next tuesday 20th April and you have a whole week to complete the challenges and join in on the fun and games. Here is the timetable:

As you all have read, I have resigned my position from the Artypants Design Team effective the end of March, so I thought I would host one last challenge.

I've been doing a little bit of scrapping at some crop days, one of which was held at my my mum's house on Labour Day. It was great to get out for the whole day rather than just a few hours at night, but in saying that I also scrapped at my friend Cristi's house the other night and I got two and a half layouts done there. I think it makes a difference when its not at your own place, you can relax more and let the mojo take over! Anyways, here are a few of the layouts that I created over those last two crop day/night.

This one is for a Sketch hosted my Felicity over at Bon's Scraps. Love her work and sketches, and it also had to include paint circles which were lots of fun and very effective!!

This one "Sweet" was created for Scrapboutique's Stash stomper hosted by the lovely KarenB. Karen's sketch and sample is devine and the added criteria was to include atleast 3 different materials/felt/ribbon etc.

This one "create" is my week #2 submission for Scrapability sketches Soup challenge. It's ran by the beautiful Bek and inspired by 5 different 'ingredients' for each day of the week and then a 'twist'. This one was to include: Kraft cs, rubon, transparency, round embellishment, bling and 8.5" x 11" layout. These were photos from the day at kinder that I was on duty, hehe so cute!

This next one will form part of a a double layout of the one above and I have entered it into My sketch world.
I've never entered into their comps before, so am still learning about how they do things. I also entered into their card sketch too with a cute card for our friends Michelle and Steve's new little addition - Lily Jean.

AND LASTLY!!!!

I've decided to step down from the DT at Artypants. It's something that I had been thinking about for a couple of months so it wasn't a decision I made lightly. It's be great hanging out with the girls on the forum and coming up with challenges and games for the members, especially the fun Scrap your Pants off comp. But there comes a time when things need to take a back seat in order to accomplish other goals in your life and right now that entails my big O/S trip in May.

Thanks for having me on the team Jodie and I've learnt lots and made lots of friends :)

SOME SCRAPPY CHALLENGES

I've been getting a little bit of scrapping done lately, I think my mojo is back. Now all I need is a little more time to put my creativity down on paper.
Two weeks ago, Artypants had their SUMMER LOVIN' Cybercrop, but I only got around to one challenge as it was Kaytie's birthday weekend. I also used Em's sketch challenge from SB's Stash Stomper as it was so different and also had to include patterned paper from our stash leftovers, which I have heaps of atm and trying to reduce, so this was a great challenge for me! Here's what I came up with.....

About 2 years ago, I joined up to another scrap forum called Bon's Scraps and I've become friends with a few of the girls from there, so I decided to go and check it out. WEll they were having a cybercrop at the time, so I thought I would join in with their two challenges. The first one is a sketch challenge.....

And the next one was a scraplift. THis was the first time I tried to scrap with cardboard and I did myself an injury with my scrap blad and punctured a whole in the palm of my hand just under my finger OUCH!!! Worth it though, it was great fun putting this together.....

Scrapboutique was also having a cybercrop, so thought I would join in there too. The girls are so friendly and fun to chat too, so I played along with bingo and had a go at Manon's colour challenge. The theme of the crop was school photos, so since Kaytie and Luke aren't at school yet, Karen gave me the good idea to scrap my grad photos. Great idea, thanks Karen and love the result :D

Lastly, Scrapability are having their first comp for 2010. It's called the Scrapability Soup challenge where you are given ingredients throughout the week to use for the basis of your layout and then you have a week to scrap it. It's an elimination comp, so we'll see how far I get with this one......The ingreidents for this challenge was; *2photos, green, paint, doodling, stitching and banners, no flowers. Was great fun and an idea I had been wanting to create for a week or so now....

It's been a while since I last updated, so thought I would start fresh with what I have done this year, be it only 14 days hehe

But before I do I have some sad news to begin with from 2009, if you didn't already know, Lana has unfortunately closed the CIS store. The forum is still up for chatting and sharing projects and the sketch blog is still running strong with the beautiful Krissy, Kerry, Hilde, Sara, Ilona and Ali. But with no challenges and products there is no reason for a DT position, so sadly I have finished up there. Thanks so much to Lana though, who did a fantastic job at the forum and the store and was great to work with on the team - I gained so much experience and had a lot of fun!!!

Ok so this year, I have so far completed 3 layouts and had so much fun doing them. I hadn't scrapped for a couple of weeks over the Christmas period so it was great to get back into it and creative.

The first one was a challenge from the lovely Karenb over at Scrapboutique, which showcases Kaytie at the Christmas local fair.

The next one is of Luke playing with his trains that Michelle handed down from Tom. A massive collection too!!! This was another SB challenge set by the beautiful Manon.

And lastly, this layout I did JUST BECAUSE. I had a friend, Emily come around yesterday to start her first ever album and while she was doing some beautiful layouts, I thought I would just scrap some photos that I've had printed for a while.

I'll try not to make it too long between posts next time and I should have some Artypants news soon, with the first 2010 cybercrop coming up in Feb!!!

Boy how the time is flying, can't believe we are almost in November. Am starting to scrap with some new Chrissy papers tha Lana has sent me. There will be kits available in store in the next month or two.

What's been happening at CIS?
Raising money for Breast Cancer!!!! We had our girls night in last saturday night and it was great fun!! We had lots of games and scrappy fun for everyone and the girls had a blast. Lana and the girls ended up smashing her goal of raising $100 and ended up with approx $230.
Karen ran a speedscrap, Kerryn had her hyperdash class and Lana and I ran a few games, the night went soooo fast, but I loved every minute of it!!
Krissy also did an exclusive sketch and all the girls did a gorgeous job with it!!!
Here is the layout that I created for it.
There are still the monthly competitions that are on and you have until saturday night (31st october) to upload your layouts to the gallery to be for a chance to win a voucher from the store! Here is what I did for the technique - ribbons challenge, which is to create ribbon flowers.

This layout is for the monthly Shaping up challenge, which is to use rings on your layout.

We also have the October GIRL POWER CYBERCROP coming up over the Melbourne Cup long weekend holiday, next weekend. So come on down and join in on all the fun!!

Well I'm very very happy to announce that Scrapbooking Memories Magazine have accepted one of my layouts for publication!!! WHOOHOO!! I've just sent it off today, so we'll see what comes of it and if they actually choose it for their vintage theme in a few months time. I can't share the layout until 2 months after the magazine has been released, but I will then :)

The first challenge will be revealed on 17th October and you'll have til the following Sunday night to upload to the gallery.

It will run for 6 weeks, with the top 3 or 4 having a SCRAP OFF in the 7th week.

Young Scrap Birds

I've recently joined another new forum, that is exclusively for the Gen yer's and I only JUST make the cut (age wise lol). They had their first cc last weekend and was lots of fun to be scrapbooking without too much restriction.

Here are the layouts I made for it, using the latest train ride pics of the kids. Have heaps more of those photos to scrap and love em all :D

I got an email from Rach (the owner of YSB) to let me know that I won one of the challenges with my second layout "birds of a feather flock together"!!! Thank you so much girls, had a great time and look forward to chatting more to you all.

I've also made a pressie for my friend (and DH's cousin) and her new baby Jordan. Was lots of fun!!! I actually got the idea of the baby book, from when I had Luke and a friend from Scrapbooking Memories forum sent to me - Thanks Alison!!

Over at Crafting in Style, the new Shaping Up challenge is up and the lovely Karenb has posted her sample layout. The new shape is HEARTS and you can use as many as you like, but you must have ONE prominent one on your layout. Upload to the gallery by July 31st AEST.
There's also some new exciting news going to be announce TODAY with our Sketch side of things, so go and check out the forum to see what's going on.

I'll be running my "Friends" class on thursday night. There are still kits available in store and the instructions to the class will be there for as long as you need to access.

In other scrappy news....

I don't really do much other scrapping as the two DT's keep me pretty busy, but I always love the challenges and cybercrops over at Scrapboutique.
This month I completed their Boutique Stylist challenge which was ran by the beautiful Manon and she set a colour challenge. Here is my layout...

Yesterday the winners were announced and I won Kate's challenge!!!! Thank you so much girls for running another great cybercrop!!! And I also won the bingo whoohoo!!! lol

Ok so its been WAAAAAYYY to long and I've been doing HEAPS of scrapping so I won't be able to share everything cause I would be here all night.

Recently I've had some very exciting news to share!!! I'm now a DT member at Artypants!!! Artypants is owned by Judy and Jodie and used to be my LSS, but have recently gone exclusively online now and have there forum and gallery up and running again!!

I've joined a wonderful DT who are: Jody, Suzi, Andrea, Bec and Kerry A.

Crafting in Style News!!!
We've just hosted the last week of the Lights, Camera, Action competition. Probably a bit late to be advertising this now hehe, but there will always be the next time. Here are the layouts I completed for the weekly challenges (although I didn't get to the first or last one :( )

All the girls did a fantastic job and there were so many wonderful layouts produced. The winner will be announced this weekend on Sunday night!!

I'm also running a class next week - FRIENDS- using the new yummy Basic Grey Lime rickey range. Lana has popped the kit up in the store for a bargain of $12 (including class access) or your can just come along to the class with your own supplies for $5. I'll also be doing a prequel to the class on monday night (29th June) all the details are:

When: thursday 2nd July from 7:30pm

Where: in the groups section of the forum

If you aren't available on the night, you will have access to the instructions for as long as you need :) So come and join me!!!

Lastly, CIS are having their June Cyber Crop on this weekend starting tonight (25th June) and ends Sunday with all the challenges needing to be posted by monday 29th June midnight AEST.
The first challenge is up, its a sketch challenge and here is the sketch and my sample using the new yummy KaiserCraft Child's Play that Lana picked up at the product launch last week!!

Scrapboutique also had their cybercrop the other week and I actually managed to get all the challenges done, was lots of fun :)

Kate's challenge was you had to journal over 20 words and use a very special memory as your theme.

This is for a Build it up comp over at Scrapbook captial, where every week they give you an element to include on your page and you have to add the last week's one to the current week. Last week was ribbon and I'm working on this week's which is ribbon and rub bon.

I am working on a few projects at the moment for Christmas, but I'll share them after Christmas :)

My First class!!

I am holding my first ever class at Crafting in Style on Monday 1st December at 7:30pm AEDST. Would love to see you come along and join in. It's a Christmas themed one to get you ready for Christmas day. You will learn a really cool way to make a beautiful gift box and a layout to insert pictures for this Christmas or scrap photos from last Christmas. Including getting the most out of your pp by making your own embellies.

You can use your own stash or I will have a supply list from the shop with plenty of time for delivery before the class.

The class costs $5 for moderated access and full step by step instructions.

I had my first ever cybercrop with Crafting in Style as a Design team Member. That meant I had to come up with an OTP challenge, scrap up some samples and help host it. I also held a guessing game and gave away a little RAK. So my challenge was to decorate and/or design a door hanger for any room in your house, they had to include atleast two buttons and atleast two ribbons. Oh yeh the theme was "Buttons and Bows":

So here is my door hanger:

Karen had the technique challenge and she taught the girls how to create your own ribbons using pp and here was the layout I created for that:

Manon had the sketch challenge and I created two for that I we were supposed to include one of three of the fashion quotes, so here is the first one without the quote:

Oh yeh and then they have a "challenge the DT" where the CISters have to come up with three criteria to challenge us - this month was to use bling, flourishes and felt. Here's what I created:

It was a great weekend and it seemed to work well over in the the new 'ning' site, so come along for the next one if you haven't already. Or check out the monthly challenges.

Here's my take on the monthly title comp:

The journalling reads " he eats like a horse, he drinks like a camel, he sleeps like a sloth, he nuzzles like a wombat, he screams like a hyena and he likes eating DOG FOOD!"

HUGE NEWS!!!

I got some very exciting news on saturday from Ally at CIS!! I was one of the two accepted to be part of the new Design Team!! YAY this my first every DT to be part of and I can't wait to get stuck into it. I already have my first assignment for the cybercrop this weekend, so that will be heaps of fun!

Crafting in Style have also moved their forum across to a NING platform, it's a bit like facebook but heaps better. There's so many applications there, including making friends, forum, online chat, groups, events etc, so come over, register and have some fun with us :D

Thought I would start another blog just for my scrapping. My little hobby of creating albums for the family has become a nice little addiction and a great way to occupy my mind.

I have been participating on a few online challenges so I will share them with you. Firstly Crafting in Style ran a 6 week Ready Steady Scrap competition. This was were they would give you the 'ingredients' or what you could only use on your layout and you had to come up with a page using those items. Here are my entries for that:

They also had their October cybercrop which was themed 'Sweets and Treats'. I was only able to get one of the challenges done as I was pre-occupied with my little nephew being born and we went away for the weekend. But here is what I did for the sketch challenge.

They still have their monthly 'Title' and 'Sketch' competition for October and also a new bi-monthly challenge called 'Piece it Together'.

Scrap Therapy is another forum I like to hang around on and they have some fantastic challenges this month. So, here some that I did for September:

Oh yeh and Diva and I had a Christmas card making night one night and made HEAPS of cards using our Stampin' Up stamps we bought. It was great fun. Here's one that I did, but I won't show you anymore as it may spoil the surprise for Christmas ;)
